Voter education training for regional trainers starts in Pokhara

Voter education training for regional trainers has started in Pokhara, Kaski keeping because of upcoming local level elections slated for May 14.
Organised by the Regional Election Office, Pokhara, a total of 70 trainers from various 12 districts including Gulmi, Palpa of Lumbini zone and other 10 districts of Dhauwalagiri have took part in the training, said election office chief Ganga Lal Subedi.
The participating trainers include from different offices including district election officers, secondary level women social teachers, resource persons at District Education Office, social officers and social section officer at District Coordination Board.
The trainers are certain to share skills and knowledge gained originating from a training with volunteers to be used at village level for your polls during voter education programme, said Subedi.
The programme aims to decease invalid votes and encourage the participation of as many as voters in the elections, he said, adding that volunteers would be employed for 30 days beginning April 9 for your programme.
