The dispute between Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi about appointment within the Inspector General of Nepal Police has reached the tipping point. Deuba met Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter's residence in Baluwatar and requested to not take decision if minister Nidhi were to bring an offer about IGP appointment after learning that the cabinet meeting last Thursday could appoint IGP. NC and CPN (Maoist Center) have previously agreed that the former will get to appoint the IGP of Nepal Police and the latter that of the Armed Police Force (APF).
