KATHMANDU: The Department of Archaeology (DoA) has demolished the Pratappur Temple citing it a posed risk to your devotees and tourists coming to the site.

According to the Department’s Engineering Section Chief Sampat Ghimire, the Temple must be demolished as this may give way anytime and injure attendees.

He added how the Temple would be rebuilt in its old structure and would be quake-resilient.

The Temple, located within premises of Swayambhunath Stupa, had developed various cracks in the large earthquake of 2015 as well as it's subsequent aftershocks.

The Swayambhunath is one of the monuments enlisted in the UNESCO World Heritage Destinations.
