Brand-new species of bird is sighted in the marshland of Chitwan district.The Bird Education Society, Chitwan’s immediate past Chairman, Basu Bindari, confirmed the discovery belonging to the bird named Ruddy Turnstone (Arenaria interpres). Although it's the third instance the bird has been sighted in Nepal, it is the primary sighting in Chitwan.Ruddy Turnstone, a small wading bird of the two varieties of turnstone in the genus Arenaria, was found during aquatic bird census held for the past longer in Chitwan. The studies are being held to discover the birds’ habitat and situation.
With the latest discovery, the number of bird species in the district has climbed to 634. Nepal is home to 887 species of bird.
